How do you begin to revise for English Literature?

Everyone has different ways to revise for exams, but I've found that a lot of students struggle to approach English Literature. We need to find out what tools you respond well to in general for revision (e.g. - visually like mindmaps and pictures or in exchanges like conversations and oral tests) and then apply those to revising your texts. English is very different to a lot of other subjects though, and so past papers and practice questions are a huge help - especially when preparing for timed exam conditions that you may not be used to/comfortable with. To start with, it's always useful looking back at the original text and your notes and then transferring them into revision material. It takes some trial and error, but eventually the right revision method will be found.
