How do you conjugate the verb 'tener' in the imperfect subjunctive?

  1. Find the imperfect subjunctive stem of the verb by conjugating the verb in the third person plural form of the preterite tense: tuvieron. 2. Taken off the '-on' ending: tuvier-. 3. Remember that you have the choice as to wether you add the '-ra' endings or the '-se' endings. 4. After having chosen your set of endings, add on the ending that corresponds to the person, i.e. '-ra' for yo, '-ras' for , '-ra' for él/ella/usted, '-ramos'* for nosotros/nosotras, '-rais' for vosotros/vosotras and '-ran' for ellos/ellas. * remember that with the nosotros conjugation, you must add a tilde to the preceding vowel.
