Describe the bonding and structure in solid sodium chloride

It is a giant lattice structure. Sodium ions (Na+) are positively charged and chloride ions (Cl-) are negatively charged. There is ionic bonding between - strong electrosatic forces of attraction between oppositely charged ions.
