How do I incorporate enough scholarly comment to back up my analytical essays?

It is really important to add depth to your essays by including the opinions of experts in your essay topic, but it can be difficult to know when to add these in. Generally, in order to create a full analysis of your argument, you should be including at least one scholar in every new argument/paragraph. When you are structuring your esay, use a scholar's views as a way to present a different argument - pick a few interpretations that are varied so you have plenty to talk about! For example, if you were to write an essay on the different ethical and religious approaches to abortion or ethuanasia, it can be helpful to take a few ethical schools of thought (eg. Utilitarianiam, Natural Law) or church denominations, and use key figures from these as a way of expressing your arguments. In this way, you provide your examiner with an interesting essay full of varied opinion, and includes plenty of sufficient scholarly comment that you can analyse in order to boost your grade.
