Camels are adapted to survive extremely dry conditions in deserts, where it is hot during the day and cold at night. They have the ability to go without water for long periods of time; their large humps allow them to store large amount of fats, which are essential for water production via respiration. They also have two-rows of long lashes which protects their eyes from dust and sand.
Cacti's are able to survive dry conditions because they have large stems that can store large amounts of water, widespread roots that can collect water from a widespread area, and they also have spikes instead of leaves to reduce surface area which therefore reduces water loss by transpiration. The spikes can also protect the cactus from animals that could eat them.
