What areas should you cover within a medical school personal statement?

I have through research, that a personal statement generally for most medical schools has to cover these four areas: Evidence of social and cultural awarenessEvidence that you can take responsibilityYour interests, activities and achievementsYour insight into a career in medicineThere may be a lot of over lap between areas, so I found the best method to planning was to quarter off a piece of paper and set a box for each area we want to cover. Then systematically work through and try and think of 2 to 3 pieces of different evidence for each area. The key thing is that you use different pieces of evidence, yes Gold DofE is both an example of Achievement and of responsibility, however when looking at a personal statement, a university will tend to only allow it to count for one area. So decide which area it best fits into to make you stand out as a candidate.
