How do I answer a question in the writing part of the exam?

There are several elements that need to be taken into account when replying to a question. To begin with, it is important that you understand what the question is asking; you must be careful not to go off topic and only write about things that are relevant for your answer. Furthermore, your answer needs to be organised in a logical way and needs to be consistent. To do so, you should divide your answer in different parts and paragraphs (e.g. introduction, main body, conclusion) and use linking words to structure the text. These will guide the reader through your answer and make it clear and easy to follow. In general, when writing you should avoid repetitions and try to use a varied vocabulary, in order to demonstrate your knowledge of the language. Finally, I always recommend sparing some time to review your text, so that you can double-check that there are no mistakes and that your answer is well-thought and coherent.
