How would you answer a frequency tree question such as '400 people were asked if they drink orange juice, 8/10 say yes, 25% of these say yes to drinking 3 cups a day. Complete the frequency diagram.'?

There are a total of 400 people, therefore to work out how many people said yes you would need to divide 400 by 10 which would equal 40 then times 40 by 8 which comes to 320. To establish how many people said no you would take 320 away from 400 which comes to 80. For the second half of the question you need to work out 25% of 320. Given 25% is equivalent to 1/4 you need to divide 320 by 4 which comes to 80. Then take 80 away from 320 to get 240 people who said no.To write out the frequency tree you would start with 400 which would then branch out to 320 yes, 80 no, then from the yes branch out into a further 80 yes and 240 no.
