In the isosceles triangle ABC, AB=AC and angle B=(3x +32)degrees and angle C=(87-2X)degrees

First of all i would get the student to draw a diagram with the labelled sides and angles. Then i would test their knowledge of shapes and angles by asking them what the angles in a triangle add up to. Once they'd told me the answer to this i would ask them to write out the equation that would confirm that angle A,B&C added together equals 180. The next thing to do would be rearranging the equation and i'd explain that they would need to end up with an equation where the letters (x) are on one side of the equation and the numbers are on the other side because we are trying to find out what x is equal to. Finally they would end up with multiples and once they divide both sides by the same thing then it would give them an answer. If they struggled with rearranging the equations and the simple algebra i would start by going through some basic algebra concepts in order to gain the understanding they need for the question.
