What is the basis of DNA replication?

Remembering the steps to DNA replication can be based on your own preference, either with numeric list, diagram or mind maps. I will outline the steps in the form of a list but we can use diagrams/mind maps if this helps you.
The double stranded DNA helix unwinds with the help of enzyme ligaseThe helix is now separated into two separate strands. DNA polymerase enzyme begins the replication process at the replication fork by adding free nucleotides in complementary order to the original DNA template
the pairs are as follows
adenine -> thyminecytosine -> guamine
