How is the theme of dreams abd reality represented in The Great Gatsby

It is key that within this essay the main focus is upon who is the dreamer and who is the realist. The character of Gatsby is one that would initially appear as a dreamer; his life-long strive for money and success, and his tragic end in loneliness. Fitzgerald continuously reinforces the idea that Gatsby cannot differentiate between what is real and what is what he hopes to be real. Yet, due to the way in which Fitzgerald represents Gatsby, the reader hopes that his dreams could one day become reality, and instead of being tragic, he could truly be the ‘Great’ Gatsby
