What is 4/5 of 60?

Okay so what this question is asking for is 4 lots of 1/5 of 60.
So our first step is the find 1/5 of 60 and we do this by dividing by 5. If you don't know your 5 times table off the top of your head you can write it down, but you should end up with 12 x 5 = 60.So we now know that 1/5 of 60 = 12.
The next step is to multiply 12 by 4. Again, just use your knowledge of your 12 times tables to get 4 x 12 = 48.
This gives us the answer: 4/5 of 60 = 48.
