Simplify fully:6y2 +7y - 6y - 4 - 3y2

Simplify: 6y2 +7y - 6y - 4 - 3y2
The first step is to group the terms of the equation into y2 terms, y terms and terms with no y:
This gives, 6y2 -3y2 + 7y - 6y - 4
Next we are going to look at each term individually:Looking at only the y2 terms: 6y2 -3y2 = (6-3)y2 = 3y2
Looking at only the y terms: 7y - 6y = (7-6)y = 1y = y
Looking at the final term: -4 (this can not be simplified any further so is left as it is).
Finally we bring all of the terms back together to give: 6y2 +7y - 6y - 4 - 3y2 = 3y2 + y - 4
