What is a meander bend

This is a change in the course of a river usually occuring downstream
It is curvatious in nature and is usually surrounded by a flood plain
The velocity and energy contained by the river is high around the outskirt of the river channel causing erosion, and low around the inside of the bend resulting in deposition
