How useful is this source?

Imagine you’ve received a text message from a friend and you are unsure what it means. How would you work what it means?Well think about who wrote the message? Who is their audience ? Why did the use that hat medium(texting, letter poster)What do you know about them do they have a particular belief or ideology ,What is noticeable about its content and language ? does it match facts you know about the period ?How reliable is the author (is it true and what makes you think that)Primarily you are assessing its usefulness in what it tells you about the period –You need to show the examiner all your knowledge and why its relevant to the source whilst also breaking down the source bit by bit.
