How do I know what vocabulary to know?

The vast majority of questions will be on topics regarding either daily life or various aspects of daily life or Dutch culture. Think of things like holiday related texts or things relating to the Dutch cuisine. Focus on those areas in particular as well as the basics of understanding sentences (pronouns & the most common verbs). Anything else can generally be inferred from the context when in doubt. A lot of seemingly intimidating words are compounds of smaller parts that can be picked apart ('vrachtwagenventieldopjesfabriek' -> 'vrachtwagen', 'ventiel', 'dopjes', 'fabriek').
