How are adulthood relationships affected by early relationships? Provide evidence.

The continuity hypothesis suggests that early relationship experiences continue in later adult relationships. Young children develop an 'internal working model' from their first relationship with their primary caregiver and use this to model all future relationships. Hazan and Shaver support this view and found a strong relationship between childhood attachment type and adulthood attachment type.
