Describe and explain the physiological changes that occur in the body if the core body temperature is at 38 degrees celsius.

38 degrees Celsius is higher than the necessary core body temperature of 37 degrees. This is detected by the hypothalamus to reduce the temperature through a negative feedback system. The changes brought about include sweating. This decreases body temperature as heat can escape when sweat evaporates. Also, blood vessels increase in diameter, which is called vasodilation. This allows a larger quantity of blood to flow closer to the surface of the skin releasing more heat.
