Describe how a sample of copper chloride crystals could be made from copper carbonate and dilute hydrochloric acid.

To make crystals of copper chloride from copper carbonate andd dilute HCl, you will firstly need to add an excess of copper carbonate to the dilute HCl (keep adding until no more reacts). Next, take the solution of HCl + CaCO3 and pour it through a filter in order to remove the unreacted excess calcium carbonate. To remove some of the excess water from the filtered solution, heat it gently with a bunsen flame, then leave the remaining liquid to cool and evaporate off, leaving crystals of copper chloride to form.
