When do I need to use the subjunctive?

The subjunctive mood is primarily used in French to express uncertainty, but is also often required in other circumstances, following phrases containing the word "que".Expressing doubt:"Il est probable qu'on ait ...""Je ne suis pas certain(e) qu'il soit..."Expressing a feeling:"J'ai peur que tu fasses..."Expressing necessity:"Il faut que je mange..."After certain conjunctions:"Bien qu'il reste...""Pour que je puisse..."Showing that you are confident using the subjunctive in essays can really boost your mark, especially when the subjunctive verb is irregular. I found it helpful to start by learning a few key subjunctive phrases that I began using when I could, and built my confidence with it from there. Hope this helps! :)
