DNA Helicase unwinds the DNA double helix and the hydrogen bonds break.1 strand of exposed nucleotides acts as a base.RNA polymerase assembles RNA nucleotides across from the complementary nucleotides of the template strand.The base uracil is used instead of thymine.RNA polymerase joins nucleotides into long single stranded molecules, to produce a strand of RNA.
