How can I get above 40 in my literature and film essays?

Getting above 40 at first can seem like a difficult task, but is more than possible. Regarding a literature response, if possible short and simple quoting can be helpful however not vital. A simple quote can save lots of time and stop rambling in an essay to show that you know the content and background to get those content marks. Always remember that you should focus more on analysis than description of the movie or literary text. Of course you will need to write a few sentences explaining the scene briefly, however do not skip details as this will help you achieve higher marks. Then focus on analysing why the writer or director has chosen to do this - what effect this gives the audience. Also if responding to a movie using specialist language to describe the shot will also help you grasp those higher marks. Finally do not overlook your Spanish language whilst analysing. Be sure to be accurate with grammar - for example do not confuse genders and remember in particular that some words such as ‘otro’ do not have a definite article - for example ‘un’. Another thing to keep in mind is to not be repetitive - try and use as many different sentence a starters as possible, try to show off your tenses, however keep the mainvoice of the essay in the present and use different adjectives - not just ‘bueno’ and ‘efectivo’.
