The LNAT, in its current form, consists of two distinct sections. The 42 mark multiple choice questions followed by the 500-600 word essay.
In preparing for the multiple choice section, the best preparation is practise with the format and skills required. The LNAT offers a software identical to what you will use in the real thing and is the only true experience you can get before taking the test. Therefore, it is important to use this to your advantage and familiarise yourself with the layout and format so that when you get to the real thing you are confident in how to use it and don't waste any time figuring it out. As for reading the multiple choice questions and paragraphs, it is important to develop skills to do with skim reading, pin-pointing relevant information, and identifying the objective meaning of text. The best way to do this again is through the practise software, but also by doing similar exercises at home with the use of academic texts or broadsheet newspapers.
