How should I go about revising my set text?

Its best to tackle set text learning in smaller chunks, rather than in one go. What I tend to do is start with the translation learning by matching up each English word with the Latin as I go along. If there is a word in the Latin I don't recognise, I record it meaning on a separate list, this becomes useful for revision. Then once I've learnt that page back to front, I'll start thinking about where the style techniques are manifested in the meaning of the text. I have found over the years that it is always best to have a completely clean copy of the set text in addition to my highly annotated one, as this helps the learning process become more effective.
