'The literature of love is quick to portray women as cruel and dismissive lovers. Discuss.'

It can be considered that literature focusing on romance often identifies women as the scornful, uninterested part of the pairing. Such a recognition could be founded on the notion that love in literature is often a fanciful, almost extreme stereotype of reality. Hence, women's lack of affection is also heightened, not just to mirror their lack of interest for their suitor, but to model style and tone.
