How far were the Nazis in control of the German people between 1933 and 1945? Explain your answer.

In your answer you should bring up 2 examples of Nazi control over the people (e.g. the use of the media and propaganda / the Gestapo and it's role) and 2 examples where they were not completely in control of the people (e.g. the Kreisau Circle / the Edelweiss Pirates). To score top marks and evaluation should be made. For example, although there were opposition groups who worked in underground networks subversive to the Nazi cause, the large majority of the German populous had their perceptions and ideology controlled by the Nazis through combined use of force and propaganda. Therefore, to a great extent were the Nazis in control of the German people towards 1933 and 1945. (A chronological approach could be useful for this question also).
