The Art course works by thorough research through out the 5 months given before the exam. This should be a time where the student tests their subject. Experimenting different routes and methods, until a unique viewpoint is achieved. This takes guidance and careful planning through this time to produce a sketchbook bursting with ideas. by the end of this 5 month period the aim is to have an idea of a final piece and how to go about it.
For example. If I chose the topic 'The Sun' my order of going about it would be as follows:
Go to a gallery and/or museum and pick up as information about the Sun as possible, but also just general interests from the space. make a sketchbook page about it. mind map pages of everything to do about the Sun - the positives, the negatives, religious beliefs, medicine etc. explore these different routes use different methods of displaying this subject to best suit it - eg. painting, sculpture or photography. trial and error until a unique idea is presented. plan for final exam - hour by hour. do a test run prepare for final exam
