How do I comment on the voice of the author and why is this relevant?

In novels or any other piece of literature, it is often the author's voice and message that holds the key value of the piece and so this is why we must look carefully at what this message is and why it is being communicated through literature. The extent to which an author's perspective can be seen in a piece is dependent upon the purpose of the piece itself and so we must always look at the broader picture when analysing to prevent inaccuracies and narrow outlook. For example, with writers such as George Orwell, the satire that is communicated through the characters and their situations must be seen as relevant and as being a part of Orwell's voice as it is with this that the true relevance of the novel can be revealed. As an English student, you must always be looking at the deeper context and meaning of a piece if you hope to reach the best levels of responses in your exams.
