How can I revise well for the set text section of the exam?

Learning the English meaning of the set text is extremely important as it is possible to get a lot of marks simply by knowing the translation. I would suggest writing out the English translation and then recording yourself reading it on a voice memo - you can then listen to the recording whilst reading along with the Latin, so that you can see how the translation relates to the original text, or with the English, so that you can doubly reinforce the translation. In the essay section of this exam, I found it very useful to brainstorm the different topics which could come up (set texts often have a few very obvious themes) and then write three essay titles for each one. If you have time, even try writing an essay based of one of these titles.
