Expand and simplify fully (x+3)(x-1)

When expanding brackets one should follow the FOIL order, multiplying out in this order:First- The first term in each bracket Outside- The outside terms of the bracketsInside- The inside terms of the bracketsLast- The last term in each bracketYou then add together the results of these multiplications,In this example; F(x)(x) + O(-1)(x) +I (3)(x) +L (3)(-1) = x^2 -x + 3x -3 Once this has been done, collect like terms by adding the coefficients to get the final answer:x^2 + 2x - 3
