I want to apply to study art at university but I feel like my sketchbook isn't presenting me as well as I'd like. What can I do to improve it for my application?

The most important thing when it comes to working on your sketchbook is finding your passions, and displaying them in a detailed, intricate way. Try not to think about what you think the university will want to see, and think more about topics, artists and mediums that you want to explore. When it comes to the sketchbook, the more detail the better. So don't be afraid to include as many artist research pages as possible, to label and annotate every piece you make (even if you think why you made it or how you made it is obvious). A well annotated sketchbook is one of the first ways a university can see that you are keen to learn - that you have a hunger for finding out as much as you can about art and that university is the next step for fulfilling this desire to learn and grow as a creative.
