What is the best way to learn vocabulary? I am currently really struggling with remembering all the words.

Everyone learns in different ways, so it would be good to find out what sort of learner you are. Maybe you find images or pictures helpful? If this is the case, you could associate each word with a picture, the image of the picture will help you remember the word. Draw a picture next to each foreign word, you could also try using different colours as this will help with memorising the words. Writing lists of vocabulary and their translation, then covering each section and re-writing them is also a tried and tested technique. Learning vocab is all about repetition so this can be a great method and a good way of testing yourself. Flashcards are also very helpful, write the french word on one side and the english word on the other - this can be a very affective way of testing yourself. Furthermore invite a friend! Learning vocabulary with a friend is also a good idea and can be fun! There are also plenty of interactive resources which can help with vocabulary learning. If you have a specific topic in mind you can also create your own word searches or crosswords, or make simple flashcard games which can help you remember the words efficiently. Please note that it is important not to try and learn too many words a day and this will be overwhelming and unproductive. Aim for between 10-15 a day, and adjust the amount as you progress or as needed. Remember, the key with learning vocabulary is to repeat, repeat, repeat!
