From my experience writing a personal statement, its most important purpose is to sell your skills, interests and character to the admissions offer. Start by talking about subjects at school that interest you and why. Try to captivate the reader such that after reading it, they will understand why you are so passionate about these subjects. After talking about what you currently study, tell them about your aspirations for the future; why you have a passion for a particular subject or career path. Tutors will admire ambitious students who clearly display passion and interest. However, a personal statement shouldn't just sell your academic life. The tutors reading it will want to know about you personally. Don't be afraid to be confident when describing your extra curricular interests and achievements. They will see you as a diverse prospect, which will increase your chances of receiving an offer! Amongst all of this, it is important to write clearly and confidently, making sure all spelling and grammar are correct. They will appreciate the time and effort put into writing your personal statement, and hopefully you'll be able to stand out from the crowd. Good luck!
