Describe the differences between erosion and weathering

Weathering occurs in situ where physical, chemical and biological processes such as thermal stress, oxidisation and plant growth (respectively) wears down the rocks. Whereas erosion wears down the rock with movement, typically using the energy from the river or sea. An example would be abrasion.
