What are the differences between meiosis, and mitosis?

Meiosis occurs in the ovaries or testes to produce gametes. Gametes are sex cells such as an egg cell or sperm cell. Four cells are produced by this process and they are non identical. Mitosis occurs throughout the body to replication cells for growth and repair. Two identical cells are produced by this process.
