Describe the military terms of the Treaty of Versailles. (4 Marks).

The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty which decided the fate of Germany after their loss in the First World War. It included a number of military restrictions to limit Germany's abilities to fight back. These included its army being limited to 100,000 men, and the conscription of soldiers was banned. Additionally, Germany was banned from possessing any tanks or aircraft and the Rhineland along West Germany was demilitarised.
