Identify three types of long-term memory and explain how each type is shown in an example of your choice.

One type of Long Term Memory is procedural memory. An example of when this is used is when riding a bike for example as an individual is remembering a muscle-based memory. Procedural memories are often recalled unconsciously. Another type of LTM is episodic memory which are memories surrounding events at a specific point in time. An example of this would be remembering one's wedding day. This can happen voluntarily or as an automatic response to external cues. A Third type of LTM is semantic memories which are factual memories about the world around you. An example of this would be knowing that football is a sport.
