What is the difference between 得 and 地 when describing a verb?

得 is used to describe how you do the verb generally, whilst 地 is used to describe how the verb is being done at that moment.EG.I am good at swimming uses 得 since it is a general statement. He's swimming so fast uses 地 since this is a current observation/it is happening now.
