What is the structure of an animal cell?

The main bits of an animal cell are as follows: A nucleus - this is where the genetic material is kept for cell replication and repair Cytoplasm - this is the bit in between the other things in the cell - it is where proteins and other things are transported between different elements of the cell. It also contains nutrients, electrolytes and other chemicalsCell membrane - this is the barrier to the cell, and certain things are transported in and out of the cell depending on what the cell requires Mitochondria - this is where the energy comes from for all of the cell's activities - it produces energy through chemical reactions Ribosomes - this is the bit of the cell that produces proteins using the genetic material held in the nucleus - this allows the cell to function I would also ideally draw a diagram to demonstrate the cellular structure
