How should I go about analysing a text?

Before writing, read through the text and highlight anything that stands out to you. If it sounds funny or colloquial, then there is usually a point to be written about. For example, using an informal style of language to sound like a specific dialect may be there to create humour or hyperbole and hence emphasise a point the text has previously mentioned.Use this method to break down the text into less scary chunks of information that can be easily written about.
