What is the best way to structure an essay in my exam?

First, you must look at the question given to you and decide your argument. It is important to be clear through your writing. Your introduction should lay out your key argument clearly, and answer the question given. It should also introduce a debate, displaying the other side to your argument. Each paragraph should begin by introducing your point, so it is clear to the reader. You should then provide evidence to support the point you are making, continuously linking it back to the question at the beginning. It is important to analyse this evidence and explain why it boosts the point you are trying to make.Every point you make should follow this similar structure, making sure you are focusing on the question at hand and not going off on a tangent, providing relevant evidence that supports your point. You should also introduce any weaknesses to your argument, providing an valid point of view that contrasts with your original argument, even if this is something you don't agree with. You can use language like 'on the other hand', or 'contrasting with...'.In your conclusion it is important to take every point you have talked about in your essay into account. You should use these points to support your original argument, bringing them all together to justify your opinion. You need to make sure your conclusion also links back to the question at hand and, like the introduction, clearly answer it so it is obvious to the reader.
