Where do you start when trying to translate a sentence from Latin.

What I consider to be one of the key focus on mastering the concept of the Latin language is familiarizing yourself with the dictionary. You have to understand the layout of the dictionary because it is the most important tool in translating from Latin. Therefore one must accommodate themselves with the grammar, having a great understanding of the concepts of verbs and nouns, the idea that nouns in Latin are separated into three categories depending on the 'genre', masculine, feminine and neutral, which is not the case for the English language, and another crucial aspect to understand is the forming of a sentence and the very strict position of each word (e.. the verb is always found at the end of the sentence). If you understand and practice these rules and use the dictionary accordingly, you will have no problem producing a great translation from Latin.
