Order the following substances from highest to lowest boiling point stating hat type of bonds they have. Iron, Water, Sodium Chloride(5)

2 Mark for order 3 for correct bondIt is important to think about the bonds even if you are unsure about the order as you can still get 3 marks.Think about the bonds:Water, covalent bond (h2 o) this is weak as the shared electrons are on the outer shell and be easily removed Iron, metallic bond as its is a metal formed by the the electrostatic attractive force between the free electrons and positively charged metal ions, this is stronger Sodium Cholride, ionic bond (remember this is between a metal, sodium, and a non metal, chloride) The positively charged metal ion and the negatively charged non metal ion are strongly attracted to one another making this the strongest bond The weakest bond has the lowest boiling point. Therefore the order from lowest to highest boiling point is:waterironsodium chloride
