What should I expect from my upcoming MMI?

Firstly, congratulations! At this point it is important to remind yourself that you have already overcome a massive hurdle and there is only one to go. It is easy to overthink and talk yourself into feeling as though everyone else is better than you, or more qualified or has more experience, especially as a school leaver, however, remember you are just as worthy of this interview slot and confidence is key. The interviews seem very daunting but they are not there to trick you. MMIs, or multiple mini interviews, are set up in 10-15 minute stations and the amount of stations vary for different medical schools. You will be assessed on your ability to problem solve and communicate effectively and interviewers will try and get a grasp of your personality. For example, you may be asked about how you would break bad news to a patient or have a difficult conversation with a peer/ colleague or you could have a station on your personal statement and why you want to do medicine. You are not expected at this stage to have all the answers or be perfect, the interviewers are only trying to see what sort of person you are.
