In order to understand how to calculate the carrying capacity of humans, we first need to understand which factors limit growth. These include population, natural resources, agricultural production, and industrial production, as they highlight the scarcity of resources available for the human population. Predicting the carrying capacity for humans is problematic for several reasons. Firstly, the range of resources used by humans is much greater than any other species, and when resources are limited, humans tend to find substitutes for them. Moreover, our resource requirements vary over time, with technological developments changing and expanding the amount of resources available. Finally, humans imputes resources from outside their immediate environment, further expanding the range of resources available. These variables make it practically impossible to have reliable estimates of carrying capacities for humans.
