What is photosynthesis and where does in occur?

"Photo" means light and "synthesis" means to make something. Photosynthesis is the production of oxygen and glucose from sunlight, carbon dioxide and water in green plants. The glucose created by this process is used as a source of 'food' for the plant. This process occurs in the chloroplast.
