Religious Pluralism can be defined as the idea of people from different backgrounds, societies, races and cultures co-existing together as one community. (2 marks)
One advantage of religious pluralism is that it encourages people to become more tolerant and open-minded. People from different backgrounds, working together, communicating together and acknowledging each other allows one to understand and crucially, respect another's view on religion, and even the way someone dresses, certain customs one may have and even understand partciular traditions that are undertaken in certain cultures. This in turn breeds community cohesion. As different cultures mix, it allows cultures from all over the world to come together and unite as one. This is beneficial as it allows people to overcome the racial barriers which some people do have up because nowadays there are so many stereotypes about what certain races, cultures etc. do. (4 marks)
