What factors influence development?

Development means countries changing and becoming more advanced. PHYSICAL FACTORS INFLUENCING DEVELOPMENT Climate -countries with unstable climates struggle to develop e.g. countries in the Sahel prone to droughts. Natural resources- Resource abundant countries have better prospects of development however are often sucked into the 'resource curse' which can greatly hinder development. HUMAN FACTORS INFLUENCING DEVELOPMENTPolitics - poor governance has a massive impact on a countries development. Social factors - poor countries have less money to spend on social welfare of the population e.g. education and healthcare.
