How do you structure your answers?

Structuring an English essay can be tricky, it's not so clear and laid out as in other subjects. But there are still some important rules to follow when planning out a response. 1)A clear introduction. In the first sentence outline your argument. Then go on to mention the different points each of your paragraphs will make, the points that will make up your argument. 2)Each point needs a new paragraph. If your paragraph is looking quite long it's probably because you're talking about several different points. If too short then you have probably not developed that point enough. 3) Start each paragraph with a sentence laying out your point/mini argument. Then go on to explain that point using evidence from the text or texts (quotes/paraphrasing).4)End with a conclusion. It will cross over a lot with your introduction, but do not simply repeat yourself. Pick out some points where your essay has expanded on the original argument you stated in the introduction. If this argument could have gone further, should you have had more time or a longer essay for instance, then you can mention that in the conclusion.
