What are the key steps in DNA replication during the S-phase of the cell cycle?

The enzyme DNA helicase 'unzips' the double helix DNA structure but disrupting the hydrogen bonds between the bases. This forms a replication fork that becomes the template for replication.Replication then begins by the binding of a primer to the 3' end of the DNA strand.DNA polymerases builds a new strand in a process called elongation by adding complementary bases to the template DNA strands at the replication fork.Termination of this replication happens when exonuclease enzymes remove all the RNA primers and these primers are replaced with the appropriate and corresponding bases.
